The Canon camera I use doesn't have any complicated lenses and is one of the furthest zooming, auto focusing point-and-shoot camera on the market. Some of the videos I post are also taken using the same camera.
It's been a great camera and I'm happy to say you don't have to pay a fortune for a fancy, overly-complicated one! I've even ditched my binoculars in favor of the Canon because it zooms out just as far and I'd rather have the photo of a bird as opposed to a sighting, so I can identify it later at home if need be.
