We found these pretty wildflowers growing out of a rock on
the trail up Brokeoff Mountain in late-August...
It's called Mountain Pride, and apparently it was John Muir's favorite flower.
If the fact that such a beautiful flower can thrive in such harsh conditions isn't a metaphor for life, then I don't know what is!
